Los Feliz Oaks Board members once again pulled off a great show of teamwork as they worked the tables at dinner at Vermont Restaurant on Vermont on Tuesday, April 18th.

Serving good food is almost as much fun as eating it - almost! Boardmembers Gerry Hans, Jonathan Corob and Bob Young.
Thanks to co-owner Manuel and chief cashier Eric, we honed our skills as waiters and waitresses: all 7 of us took over what 2 staff waiters usually do, and not a single patron got the wrong meal! Neither Manuel nor Eric were far away when needed; in fact I think each of us felt that at any time one or the other of them was always right there with each of us - as any good boss should be!
All in all, it was a very festive evening with friends from one table joining friends from another table later on. This is not easy for a waiter who is trying to keep track of orders for people who start at one table and move to join another.

Also, watching animated conversations at the tables suggests happy customers and maybe good tips, but when they are our friends, it would be especially fun to hear what's going on in those conversations, which surely could not be done from our positions at the wait staff's locations near the cashier. We make a note to check on those conversations later.
The Bottom Line: A renewed admiration for those waiters out there who actually know what they are doing, and are fast, good, friendly and attentive at the same time. There is a report that our tips exceeded last years, again all to the benefit of our Oaks Homeowners Association, which we need for all the work we are trying to do.
Thank you all.
