It
helps to speak up. Obviously because of the many phone calls you made and
because of the many emails you sent we have received a promise to attack
causes for the recent power outages and to update the electrical system
in the Oaks.
According to a letter from the DWP's Chief Operating Officer - Power System, Enrique Martinez, the DWP plans to start work by year's end. View the letter here, and view a map that outlines the project here.
Credit to this development is due to our Council Member Tom LaBonge who, according to his letter addressed to residents, directed the DWP to take action.
The works are expected to be somewhat disruptive, because some power lines are underground. The affected streets are marked yellow in the DWP map mentioned before. As soon as the plans are finalized a community meeting is promised to be held.
Thank you very much, residents, for making our voices heard in City Hall. It is up to all of us Oaks residents to see that the DWP will follow through. If you have any questions or concerns you can call Winifred Yance, the DWP's Governmental Representative, at 213-367-0025, or Tom LaBonge's Field Deputy for the Oaks, Patty Malone, at 818-755-7893.
